Located in the Piedmont region of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Payne Hay and Straw has been a trusted hay provider since 1980. What began with a love of farming grew into a more than 2,000-acre farming operation that serves equestrian and farming communities throughout Virginia and the country. Payne Hay and Straw is proud to offer a wide variety of locally grown and harvested hay, including Alfalfa, Orchardgrass, Timothy, Teff, and Fescue.
Western Grown Hay
We are proud to offer a premium Western Timothy hay year-round. Soft green and sweet-smelling hay, our Western Timothy hay is high in fiber and promotes a shiny coat, good digestion, and a healthy weight in horses.
Two Generations of Passion and Expertise
With a passion for cultivating high-quality hay, Dewayne Payne, Sr., began Payne Hay and Straw nearly four decades ago. On the farm, Dewayne Payne, Sr., is joined by his son, Dewayne Payne, Jr., who has worked on the family farm since he was a young boy.
